Uses new DMG equipment to help patients see better
American Optisurgical Inc. products help people have a clearer view of life and their surroundings. The company makes ophthalmic instruments that allow surgeons to remove cataracts from peoples eyes. And with a new DMG CTX 310 eco V3 Turning Center, parts for these products can be produced with greater productivity, less labor and in a lights-out environment. Tate Parham, Director of Engineering says that they produced parts for their ophthalmic instruments and instrument care systems on a standard lathe and mill. But after product changes, the company needed a machining center with turn / mill capabilities. "With the aquisition of the DMG CTX 310 eco V3, parts come off finished and part movement between machines is eliminated. There are a lot fewer man hours and the parts are produced faster and with better precision."
